    Most of the labiate single-leaf (monofoliate) cattleyas I've seen had fewer and larger blooms, most of the two (or more) bifoliate cattleyas had more and smaller blooms. Of course there are exceptions like the Cattleya warscewiczii sanderiana types with many large blooms (if grown right).

    Or bifoliate Cattley aclandia, with one or two small blooms.
