Is it wet and squishy? If so it is bacteria. If it dry and firm it is fungus. If it is bacteria -CUT IT OUT. If it is a fungus, then you can just repot. Sometimes plants will stay that way for a long time without any change.

It's very firm. I almost thought it was dirt or a rust spot - except one part of it looks like worm tracks inside or something - like a trail. And it doesn't scrape off.
It looks like it's been on the plant for a while - because of the size. And it's not on any of the other bulbs.
So it's very firm and it should be OK to pot up then?
There is a problem when you run out of orchid mix before you pot up all of your orchids... an addiction.... I have to run out and get some potting mix and soak it now.......

Oh my god!!!!!!! this is emergency! this is a virus for sure 100%, there's no way to cure a viral disease on orchid and you have to dispose the whole plant or it will get it to all of your collection. Viral disease is not gonna kill your plant as fast as bacteria or fungus, but once your orchid has it, it will significantly decrease the orchid's health, and there'll be distortion of the flower's shape and color.
So the first thing you need to do is to put the orchid away from your collection so you won't get it to other plants. After that, remove the bulb that shows symptom - REMEMBER TO FLAME YOUR CUTTING TOOLS TO KILL VIRUS - and wait to see if there's any more symptom showing up.
