    Default noid dendrobium kingianum

The chances of id'ing this beautiful plant is unlikely, but maybe someone can. I know for sure that it is Australian kingianum, but I purchased it here at a local Zhuhai (China) flower market. I cannot speak Chinese. It is extremely fragrant.

    Thanks for the help!

There are an awful lot of named varieties of kingianum. I have 4-5 myself. You could try asking the seller. He might have a purchase receipt that gives a name.

I have a specialist book dealing solely with the Australian Dendrobium series ; I can pass on that it is extremely variable over its enormous geographical range , and has been given dozens if not hundreds of varietal names . But they are Dendrobium kingianum - that is a correct and full name for botanical purposes. p

Its not a pure kingianum, this is a hybrid. Quite possibly one of the many experimental D. Delicatum crosses that have been made. Then again there are a number of hybrids that look like this. Guarantee its not kingianum, sorry.

Thank you Roy. So, what should I call this dendrobium? Dendrobium kingianum hybrid or just Dendrobium hybrid? Thanks for the help.

I have had another senior member tell me that it is definitely not a kingianum. So, do you think it is an Australian kingianum hybrid of some type? The Chinese lady at the flower market told me for sure it is a fragrant Australian dendrobium. That is all the info that I can get. Thanks for your valuable time. Please reply back. Greg.
