Default Need help with Yamada Sammie Evans

    Hello,

I live in Northern California. Last month I attended the Pacific Orchid show and came home with a "Yamadara Sammie Evans"

Unfortunately, there is very little information out there about this plant and I was wondering if anyone can help with that.

    My plant is quite small

    Thank you

Hi Zen, and welcome to the forum!

I'm quite behind on new posts and am only just seeing this one. I'm guessing no one replied, because they weren't sure what your plant was. Yamadaara is a hybrid cross between Brassavola x Encyclia x Cattleya x Laelia. It's more correctly called Bergmanara (Brg.) Don't worry, I had to look this one up!

So Brg. Sammie Evans is in the Cattleya alliance. This means it wants a lot of light. It's 50% Brassavola fragrans, so it wants to dry out between waterings. And I'm sure it will enjoy being fertilized. Use 1/4 the recommended strength weekly.

    Hope this helps!

    Julie
