It is unusual. Basal keikis usually come out from the side, at the bottom, instead of from a leaf axis. Hopefully it will not kill the mother plant.

From the base of mu phal's leaves, is growing new plant.. Here is the pic. I've read that this does not happen so often?
It is unusual. Basal keikis usually come out from the side, at the bottom, instead of from a leaf axis. Hopefully it will not kill the mother plant.
Oh, I didn't know that keiki can kill the mother plant? Well, I'll keep an eye on it, and if mother starts to wak, I'll remove it..
How often, and why that happens?
That's kind of flower-spike looking to me. Hmm...

Looks like the beginnings of a flower spike to me too....
I think you might have a flower spike instead of another plant.
