    Default Single Bud Loss?

    Hi all,

My Dtps Queen Beer has steadily been opening all the buds on the inflorescence. Only bud 9 and 10 were still closed when it decided to get rid of the 10th bud. It hadn't grown at all and it seemed to be drying out (it's only 4mm) when it was discarded this morning. The only other bud that's not open yet is the one right before that one and it seems to be doing fine. What can be the cause of the plant canceling only one bud? Could it be that the 10 day watering schedule is too long (dried out) given that it's in 30% bark 70% sphag and the temperatures have been around 25C/77F for the last week or so?

Btw the branch hasn't grown anything since I got it either?

    Thanks.

Any changing temperatures/conditions can cause bud blast. You're lucky in that it was limited only to one bud.. *wink*. Phals that are kept too dry, in low humidity, or subjected to fast temp swings in either direction can regularly blast buds.

Check out the big box stores...there doesn't seem to be a phal in sight without at least one blasted bud.
