Black Spots on Onc. 'Sharry Baby' leaves
Hi Everyone,
I just received a new Onc. 'Sharry Baby' today and when it arrived it had small, black spots on every leaf. I am keeping this plant away from my other orchids. Should I be worried? I have contacted the person I purchased it from ....still awaiting a reply. Thanks in advance for your help!

When I saw the start of the heading I thought 'whats the bet its Sharry Baby.
This is a cultural fault and is very very common. The plants that have this black spotting have been grown to warm in the cooler months of the year.

Hi Murray...is this something I should worry about? Is the plant doomed or is this normal? It has a flower spike on it and otherwise looks healthy.

If the plant gets enough light to bloom, it will have the spots. It is normal. No worries.
Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .
