It would be a shame if this plant ends up being a dead-end growth.

Old Spikey moves indoors.
All flowers should open in a couple of days.
So far I have been able to peg down the proper window of time to move blooming dendrobiums indoors and prevent blasting
*I wish I could say the same about caulocattleyas (diacattleyas)

Placing it in front of the mirror creates the illusion that there are more flowers than there actually are.
No big pots to hide the wood basket? No problem - this driftwood makes the entire piece blend in rather well.
It is rather amazing that the direction of the two spikes match the lines of the driftwood below.

Do the existing canes keep getting taller?

One cane is still in active growth. Picture #2 from my first post.
The other cane has already produced a terminal inflorescence. Picture #3 from my first post.

Oh, John, that is lovely in front of that mirror! Very nice.

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Old Spikey in the back porch hanging out with a new addition while receiving fertilizer spray.
The new addition is a Gram. scriptum var. citrinum 'Hihimanu' 4N. It is sitting in a 12" wood basket.

Just gorgeous. My favorite color! Thanks for sharing.
