Meet "Old Spikey"
This is a Dendrobium Noid purchased from a BBS a couple of years ago.
It has not produced any new canes or keikis, but has continued to produce spikes every year.
This year does not seem to be any different
Here is a picture of the canes and the 8-inch basket:
The spikes look like they are almost done extending. The bottom flower has already started to open.
Picture of the top of one cane, showing that this is the third spike for this cane:
The top of the other cane, showing that this is the fourth spike for this cane:

That sounds likely. Some of these will continue to bloom and bloom from the same canes. I like the dark purple-blue color.
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Here's from a previous blooming:
I am pretty sure that there is a Den. Udom Blue Angel in its parentage somewhere.

I just gave it another shot looking for purple dendrobiums.
The possible candidates:
Den. Blue Violetta (I am pretty confident that this is it).

I believe the 'Den. Blue Violetta' is the closest one too. Yours does have a better form than most that I find when searching on Google Images. (Probably due to your care.) The few I looked at on-line seem to droop where your bloom seems to spread open (which I prefer in this shape of bloom.)
Cheers,
BD

I have one blue Dend I got from BBS last year. It is spiking from the old bloomed cane as well. I don't have a closeup picture, but here is the picture from last year bloom.

Very beautiful!! It amazes me how they continue to bloom from the same old canes...confuses the heck outta me, but hey, it looks very happy! As they say, if its not broken...
