So, what followed you home? Did you say you only got 2?, no way...lol.
One of the Japanese minis & an onc of some sort. I'll have to check the names when I get home. Hopefully they are still alive. I bought them, watered them, and then had to leave for 4 days. I only bought 2 for a few reasons- 1. I am moving soon and don't know what the new house is like, 2. No room in the current house, 3. I didn't bring any money, but my mom was nice enough to buy me a couple.
1 house + 4 room mates, so I can't go too crazy! I figured I was just replacing the 2 that I killed....even though I already replaced them a few weeks ago. lol.

Thanks Tim. I talk and stare at them everyday and beg them to give me some nice fragrant blooms I'm glad they can't talk, they're probably going to tell me I lost my marbles.

Best way to get stubborn orchids to bloom is to place them right next to the chopping board in the kitchen while preparing chop suey or pinakbet. And then keep telling them "You are next".

I'm still lagging on the pics since between work and moving I am running around like a chicken with its head cutoff!
The Onc I got says "Sweet Ears"- typical yellow & brown onc, imo.
I also picked up one of the minis you bought- the minmaru. I hate that white build up on the leaves. I scraped it off with my fingernail & a tissue, so hopefully that won't hurt the plant. Any suggestions?

I'm sure they'll freak out, I can also put a bottle of salad dressing next to them.

I think it's from the water that they use, I'm too scared to wipe it out. Maybe I'll try using a cotton swab

One of the grower/breeders here that I visited last week had watered their Paphiopedilums with a calcium mix which left a whitish residue on the leaves. They had put a sign out so visitors wouldn't suspect an infestation.

It doesn't look like a fungus or anything of that nature. It's probably what Marissa said about the water- kind of like water spots on glass/mirrors. Scraping it off with my nail & a tissue seemed to be ok. The plant is still alive. I just moved it out of my office and to my new house. There is a huge shaded patio at the new house.
