    Default Day three

Everything's going as expected. Audrey's opening up nicely.

We can now see the pouch developing inside! Perhaps it will not be as small as I first thought it would turn out to be.
I can see now how the petals are arranged inside the bud as it has developed: the ends of them are firmly clasped by the tip of the dorsal sepal, gently pulling it out of the bud as the sepals widen their gap, uncoiling it. As the gap widens I assume it'll also spread the dorsal tip a bit, finally releasing the petals to be on it's own.

[emotional mode ON/]We all see beauty in life and nature. We all look at the whole picture to drink in the exquisiteness of, if you'll allow me the expression, creation. But for me personally it's these little details that make me go all sappy.[/emotional mode OFF]

About its identity. I've been looking around on the forum and must say that I would now put my money on some hybrid of Paph. Michael Koopowitz and Paph. adductum, except the color seems to be all wrong. Maybe some other forma of either or both?

Bud#2 is now at day one stage, bud#3 still closed with a short stem, bud#4 still growing along with the stalk.

    Thank you for watching!

    Greetz,
    Andries

    Cool Day four

She spread her petals! (And that's not as naughty as it sounds)

This morning, I found tresses hanging down. Very dark tresses, lovely. It's a shame I missed the exact moment, but I see how that would have me up all night. Quickly shot a pic, and off to work.
The second photo is 10 hours later (just got home). The pouch is filling up nicely, but still can't really get a bearing on the color. The pics make her look more yellow than in real life, due to the flash. The overall color is a greenish tint, with a few purplish specks and purple veins.
You can tell I am really enjoying this!

This is so exciting!! I've been shooting daily progress photos of my own plants, so I know exactly how you feel, only I'm not nearly as beautifully poetic as you are.

    Well done!!

Thanks Anne and Tim. The enjoyment is piling up!
It would be wonderful if it's a species. I rate species over hybrids, for reasons that are not (yet) really clear to me. But her leaves look so different from my paph. phil. v. roebelinii, I can't imagine it will be one!
Just a few more days then.

    Default Day five

Phew! Just got home, not enough time today, etc. etc. But! There's always time, for a quick picture.
Because of the absence of daylight, I had to use flash as the sole light source. It didn't really turn out the way I liked, so I 'enhanced' (cough) the pic somewhat. As a result she looks quite ominous today but still hasn't lost her charms!
Enjoy, and 'till tomorrow (time permitting, that is!)
