That is indeed wonderful! Pictures of it caught my eye before: I love philippinense for its shape and markings but I also love the dark and unusual, so was intrigued by H.Koopowitz's 'darth vader' connotation.
So, it's a logical hybrid to like. But still, the color I see in my room is different from most of the pics out there. There's even a video showing one with rather twisted petals; others, like mine, don't twist that much. Now, I've never heard of var. anitum and looked it up. H.Koopowitz says something about small translucent 'windows' on the upper dorsal sepal. Surely that trait would not cross over? We'll have to see. Thanks, Tim for your expert opinion.
