Almost wasn't going to update today, because I could have sworn nothing was happening. But I think I was wrong.

As of tonight, the bud measures just about 1 3/4 inches, so you can imagine how these tired old (old being the operative word) eyes just can't see everything as good as the camera lens can.

So, here's how she's looking tonight. Boy, I wish she'd hurry up and really open. Growing orchids really isn't for the faint of heart, or the impatient!!

Please tell me I'm not just imagining that things are progressing!!

Once again, I woke up today and thought nothing was happening....... but I was wrong!! It is now lunch time, and the bud is measuring just about 2 inches long, and the flower is starting to really emerge from it's little cave. This little one is such a tease!! She's just going to take her sweet ol time opening fully!!

Anyhow, here are a few of today's shots. I'll post more later if I see any further signs of growing.

This one was shot around mid morning

You can hardly wait? LOL What should I say? BTW, you have a great name Susan.... and I can say that, because it's what I named my daughter.

Anyhow, I wasn't even going to post today, since I was sure not much had happened since yesterday (other than a widening of that opening that she's peeking out of), but suddenly I see what to me is a major change, even if she's not quite ready to join the coming out party yet.

Taken first thing this morning. Starting to bulge out through that opening.

Taken at lunch time. Note the split has widened to the end of the bud.

Thought y'all might like to see that new growth I mentioned earlier. It's been growing steadily, and now I think I see the start of the pseudobulb emerging from the lead.

I'm sorry I don't know what to call certain things. I'm learning, but still struggling with the terminology.

Update........ just took this head on shot. I think my baby is going to be a flower very soon!!!

It looks like I may have to start posting photos of her in the "in bloom" section any second now. And I feel like I've been watching time lapse photography today.

I'm going to have to split this up into two posts (because of the photo limitations), but I am beyond excited.

Boy, when this one decides it's time, it's really time. I'm predicting flower by morning (if not sooner).

    Yee-Haw!!!

These were taken a short while ago
