Blc. Owen Holmes 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS X Blc. Plum Pretty 'Black Magic'
What with all the problems I've been dealing with this week (ants, mealy bugs, etc), I also found some good news. Several of my chids have lovely new growths, and today, with the light coming from behind, I noticed this... do you see what I see?
This is one of three plants that were given to me by Letty, our landscaper (hmmmmmmmmm.. Letty the Landscaper? Could give Bob the Builder a run for the money... ). There is other new growth on at least two of them, but this is the only growth that looks like there might be a spike forming inside it. The others might just be leaves, but who knows!!

Cool Anne!! It took a minute to understand the photo - lol (I haven't had my coffee yet this morning...) hehehe... At first, I thought it was a mantis.

No silly. It's the bud (at least I think it's a bud) starting to emerge from the sheath!! I had a hard time getting an angle to shoot from, so I'm pretty happy with this shot. More to come hopefully!!
I'd invite you over for coffee, but I just used mine up. Guess I'll have to go to the store today for sure.

Lol. I like my coffee dark and strong, so no need for milk or sugar.. hehe... what time should I arrive? LOL If only! I would love to visit Florida. I have not been there in many years and have never looked for the wild orchids that grow there. That would be a fun trip. I would love to visit the Mary Selby Botanical Gardens too.
Looking forward to the blooms on this one, Anne.
Cheers,
BD

Bruce, if you ever do see your way clear to come down this way, I'd love to go exploring with you. It would be such fun.
I'm waiting for my friend in Mountain Home to enlarge her house. Then maybe I can get to Arkansas. She says you're only about 85 miles from her, but it's over a windy, scary, mountain road.
