    Default Bulbophyllum lilacinum?!

I got this one for bulbo lilacinum several weeks ago. However, the tag sais bulbo lancilabium. I tryied to google but nothing comes up. Can someone help me with the names please?! Is there is a difference or it means the same thing. Also there is something growing that I don't know what is it as this is my very first bulbo. May be a spike?! (I hope!!!)

Just checked both names in OrchidWiz. They both are in there and are different plants. You either were sent the wrong plant, or it has the wrong tag. I hope it is the one you wanted because the lilacinum has beautiful blooms.

    Cheers,

Thanks, Bruce! I hope the tag is wrong... If this is a spike I hope to see beautiful pink blooms on it... (honestly, I think I got the wrong one...)

Well, it does look like a spike to me. If it is the lilacinum, it will have a long pendelous spray of pink and white blooms.

can't be of help either but looking at the growth pattern, your may be seeing a runner between new growths and not a spike. Is that thin dried thing, in the center of your pics the remnant of an old spike? I assume, by the species name, that the flower has a lance-like lip

Ron, I think the dried things (they are many) were spikes that is why I am not sure if it's developing a spike or a runner... I was looking today and I think I got wrong plant, not wrong tag. The bulbs on mine have dark spots and don't look much like the lilacinum' bulbs... I can take a pic of the hole plant (all the bulbs...) and post it if that can help?!

I can relook at my lilacinum but could compare p-bulbs. I thought they might have been dried spikes and if they are we are looking at a runner between new growths
