Wow, those are beautiful! I almost bought a Vanilla plant the other day (still considering it) but I'm not sure it would like the Minnesota weather. It's rainy and cold here. We're having another cold summer.

    Congrats!

Wow, yesterday must have been orchid buying day... I also got orchids... 9 Cymbidiums to be exact! I know, I know... there's bound to be a sunny space outside for them

Nice selection Carrie, and I love the Vanilla... also looking forward to seeing the Angraecum in bloom... like Stephen said, the flowers are huge for the plant!

The vanilla cutting is on an 80cm pole so about 55-60 cm I think I havent measured it but we put a bit of garden wire round the pole at its highest point to see if it grows!

Carrie, I know how excited you are to have these. I really want a vanilla now!! LOL Mostly though, I'm so grateful to this site, for having given me a wonderful friend in you. We may never have laid eyes on each other in person, but that doesn't make our friendship any less strong. I can't think of another soul (except the other members here) who would get as excited over someone else's plants as we do.

Hmmmm.... wonder what it would take to get a vanilla cutting through to the States, once you've pruned her and gotten new little ones going. Gotta do some research on that.

    Default wich one miltonia?

Could this Miltonia be Miltonia White Summer - a cross from Miltonia roezlii X Miltonia Second Love ? if so the two parents are very very nice.

that's lovely. I just saw one today early (but it's not in bloom) and want to go and buy it tomorrow......but they usually are in bloom here at winter/spring time.

Thanks Anne, we sure are blessed by this site to have found each other and your right no one can understand the excittement of new orchids like a fellow addict can LOL If I could get a vanilla cutting to you I would but id Need phytosanitary certificatates and CItes and an eport licence from here I think and its how I would get it you quick enough to stop it deteriroating in the mail, I know the only answer win the lotto and smuggle on accross with me when I come visit LOL Only joking smuggling isnt my thing LOL We can look into it though.

Thanks Diamond I am not sure it was sold as Miltnia 'Herr alexandre' but that doesnt mean it is mistakes happen and names can be different I will do some searching for that name and see if it looks the same. It is definately mainly white and blooms in summer so makes sense LOL

Carrie... I'll make room for them... in fact I have already told the SO that all my Dend speciosums needs to go out in the garden so they experience their natural weather patterns so I can put the Cymbids where they use to be
