I have often heard the people on here say that if your plant is pretty it probably won't bloom. At first I thought they were abit off....but now that I burn mine a little too, they bloom. I can handle a few burn marks now, the newer growths will be just fine, as i'm learning. And, since i've switched to using tap water with my rain water, they are getting much larger and healthier.

    Smile Update:

The first blooms are opening on the large dendrobim out back. Its a very dark purple, only the darkest purples in these pics are close to it's color. I've got tons of no name dens out back...the final picture is of one of the others getting ready to open it's blooms. I wonder what happens to all those name tags??

I think i'll nickname this one "Right Turn Clyde", as the flower spike grew up so far and then went sideways. It looks like one of those whites touched with a little color in the lip or petals.

I'm puzzled about disappearing tags, too. I know there were tags in each pot when I set my pretties out this summer. Now, three in front of the house are missing their tags!

Someone once told me that squirrels prefer the white tags for some reason. They find them in their nests... If it's true, there's a squirrel around here with a death wish!
