    Default Ludisia discolor orchid plant

Here is Vincent, a Ludisia discolor, with his velvety black coat. He was neglected for a few years, fell into a deep depression, and developed a severe drinking problem. I thought I would give him a another chance at life. So far there are 6 "sprouts" coming up.

If you are wondering that medium I used, I used cactus soil consisting of coarse peat and coarse pumice (50/50).

    Thanks Bruce!
Currently he is in his new temporary home: a tank.

It should do well. I have one I purchased earlier in the summer from a local retailer who had it in full sun. It was looking rough. I moved it to a shady area and have kept it watered a couple times per week and it has made a strong comeback. They are easy to grow.
