I've seen this plant advertised with a basic description but no pics and when a friend offered me these plants I couldn't resist. The flowers apparently are exact in every way to the standard V.merrillii except the flowers are smaller to a maximum size of 25 mm (1 inch). The plant/s in the pics are 130mm approx' tall and about the same or smaller in width. They have keikis which again is normal and these are very much, flowering size plants.
Anyone know anything about it ??????
You have a good friend. Those are nice plants. They look very vigorous. Can't wait to see what the flowers look like.
interesting! the leaves look very thick and fleshy, is this a cross?
Ron, this is supposed to be a genuine species V. merrillii. Apart from one nursery here selling it I've only seen one other note of it on an online auction from an Orchid Trader. I can find any reference to a dwarf form anywhere.
i've got one of these too... but not looking as healthy as yours... so guess I'll have to wait to see the flowers from your pic instead Roy
Tim, where did yours come from and did you get a description of the flowers ??
hi Roy, no description of the flowers... and I got it from the nursery that specialises in species...
The local one thats "Easy" but not on the pocket ?? If it is, its quite possible the plant you have came from the P&R sell out whos plants of this came from the grower I bought mine off.
