I used to have one of those and I believe this species does get bigger over time.
Unfortunately, at this time I really don't have anything "prize worthy". (That & I really didn't want to exclude our out of country members.) Especially as you seem to be a species collector, I don't think I have any chids that would interest you, Tom. I have mostly catt hybrids and little that is unique -- unless a non-orchid like a "voodoo lily" bulb (Amorphophallus rivieri 'Konjac') would be of interest?

I'm hoping it stays small, though the fact that it could get a fair bit larger is also my understanding.

Rolando, I thought perhaps now that Tom had given yet another hint as to this orchid's ID that members might like to take another shot at it. Oh and no it is not a member of the Vanda alliance. I will even add, that IME, the growth habit is highly atypical for members of this orchid's genus.

No, although "Ma" are indeed the first two letters of this large genus of plants that run the gamut of small to large growing plants. And while there are some cool growers, most seem to be intermediate or warm. Don't know about DownUnder, Tim, but members of this genus are not uncommon in collections here in the States (though this particular species is not one I have seen frequently).

Okay, how about Macekara? There cannot be that many that start with Ma and have vanda looking leaves in their mix.

I've never heard of that one before, Bruce! Not much on the internet about that one. But no, this is a true species.
