    I grow mine in baskets bare root and sometime throw a little spanish moss over the roots.

    Hi Connie,

    In Thailand where Vandas thrive, they are grown mostly in wooden baskets, but NO media, BARE. I add very few pieces of charcoal, that's it! As you are in Florida with a similar humid climate, I would do the same to avoid rotting of the roots. Tip: Water mostly the roots, not the plant!
