    Default 2 new phals

I got 2 new phals today for a really cheap price because they are both dying. So i got home and unpotted them and clean them up and i think they were dying because they were water too much and the roots were rotting. The crowns are ok but the roots are not. one of the phals still has some nice roots but the other one only has 2 roots and the biggest root is about 1 inch long. I hope they grow new roots and become alive again. I potted them in orchid moss which was left soaking in K-L-N for 24 hours, i hope that helps. I will post more pictures to let you guys know how the phals are doing. Both of them are NOIDS

Hi Byron, I'm sure that the first one will be O.K. The second one,,,If it were mine, I'd put a plastic bag over it for a week at least. Maybe two or three until it has a chance to recover from re-potting and grows some new roots. Hope it works... Betty

I'm with you Betty. I think the first is a go, but the 2nd needs some TLC. I also would bag it and let it rest. Nature has a way of resurrecting itself. Good luck to you and your 2 new phals.
