    Default Possible keiki?

I'm wondering if this is the start of a keiki on my mini-phal. The stem to the left appears to have a leaf coming out of it, unlike the 2 stems on the right, which I hope are bloom spikes. Anyone know? Thanks!

I'm not sure yet what it is producing, but it must be very happy as it is exploding all over!!

I think the leaf-looking growth on the right probably is the start of a keiki; looks just like mine did when it started several months ago. It is just now throwing out a root to go with the leaves.

Give it some more time to develop. Orchids like to pull all sorts of surprises on us to keep us guessing. You most assuredly have a spike on the right side of the plant in the photo.

    Cheers,

Phalaenopsis can and often do send up several spikes. The most I've had is four, but who knows? Looks like your orchid is indeed happy, and you will have many blooms to enjoy in a month or two. Lucky you! Betty :-)

    Red face Possible keiki

Thanks for the comments everyone! This mini was purchased (out of bloom) with a bonus 2nd plant in the same pot. Maybe it was a previous keiki. I separated & repotted both when I got them home & they've been doing very well. The other plant is still very small & doesn't have any bloom spikes, but has sprouted several new leaves & has another on the way. I'm really excited about this particular orchid, as it's the only one in my collection at the moment with any signs of a future bloom. Thanks again!
