    Default stanhopea embreei 'lumberjack'

I have wanted a stanhopea for a while and found this smallish plant. Should do well for me outdoors for a good chunk of the least that is what I am told. I hope so anyway. It looks sorta puny but it has lots of active root growth down in there.

Looks good to me, Jason! They light bright light, but not direct sun. Keep it watered well and you will have blooms before you know it.

It looks very healthy. I love Stanhopeas, besides their strange flowering habit, I find the leaves and pseudobulbs very attractive. I had one about the same size when I was living in Mauritius, but since I have moved and growing most of my orchids indoors, can't afford one, though I'm really tempted at times to get a small seedling ....
