Technically my dictionary says 'in situ' means 'in the natural or original position'. I just meant I like to see photos of orchids in their natural habitats, but is was faster to type the other thing.

Nice i love hiking but have never gone out of my northeast to do so......your right....common name is "downy rattlesnake plantain" i guess they throw the plantain in there cause of the shape of the leaf. The shape and growth is very similar to a common weed that most might know. Plantain!! lol some people consider them weeds cause generic green grass has domesticated humans to rule our yards...lol.speaking of plants taking over the world via humans.Read it (The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan) ...but plantain is actually found to have anti bacterial properties....so if you ever get a cut in the woods. Find some plantain! Goodyera pubescens also has some medicinal properties that natives once used........thanks everyone
