I saw this at the store today and just couldn't resist; the photo on the tag was so pretty! The inside tag is dated 6/09 (I assume the date it was planted?) so I know it's pretty young. It's in about a 2" pot with a bark mix. I cannot *wait* to see this baby flower!!

Hi Ali, I can tell you, but it is better if I show you where to find the information for yourself. Our forum has an Orchid Genus Listing and it is alphabetical. Just visit the page in the link and then click on B. Scroll down and you will find that BLC = Brassolaeliocattleya which is made from crossing the following three orchid types: Brassavola x Cattleya x Laelia

    Cheers,
    BD

Ali, Just Google the name of your orchid, ( put it in the search box ) click on images in the top left hand side, then click on "search images" on the middle right side of screen. I just did...your little baby is going to be beautiful when it blooms! Betty

Thanks everyone! Sometimes I ask before searching because I'm lazy

Do these look more blue in person? Most of the photos I've seen look more purple. Not that I'm complaining, I love purple...but I got this one because it's supposed to be blue

Orchids with 'blue' in the name are really bluish shade of purple. So far there is no true blue orchid. (They do sell some with blue flowers because they dyed them, but when they bloom again later they will not bloom the same color, and anyway that's another story). I hope you will still enjoy your orchid.

I kind of figured as such. I've seen the dyednones and they look so horribly fake So sad to see that. I will absolutely love any orchid I can get to flower!
