Often see this cross section of plants in mounted culture and of the few bargains I obtain similar to your new acquisitions have found they take to mounting on cork with such ease if you want some aesthetic quality or variation in your joint collection as a whole. jason Uk on here recently posted his established bonsai with sim chids tied to the bare trunk/branches ready for a twist in the bonsai hobbyist world. I guess the only concern for you is the need to mist/ sparay frequently if mounted.

Jose, thank you so much, it makes me feel good to know I did in fact get a species. The nurseryman who has these honestly doesn't know what he has (I base that on Maura's comments more than anything I know). I welcome your offer to PM me as I have never received a PM and may not immediately know how to respond to a PM, I will figure it out. I would love to learn more about this species as I am new to orchids and decided that I wanted to collect mainly species plants and not hybrids. That is not snobbish, it is practical as it will keep my collection low in numbers as my wife, Maura has about fifty orchids in our apartment (see above). As she said, I am learning Bonsai, a life long process and enjoying it very much indeed. There is something about orchids that I can't put my finger on right now that makes one want to own and own and own. Our space will keep that in chick though, so there is no danger in me ending up with so many orchids I don't know what to do with them. No, I'll stick to my tree's, add one or two of them along and pick up a few species of orchids along the way.

Thanks for the information and please do PM me with the information on Neof, falcata. I appreciate it and all the information given above. Thanks for humoring me. Philllip

Hey phillip there is more hybrids than species but there is over 28k species out there so good luck in keeping your collection small lol
If you want jose to PM you, you will have to set it up because at the moment no one can send you pm's because you havent allow it yet. I forgot how to do it but i think you have to go to your profile and then settings, its somewhere in there. Maybe someone else can help you

Jose, I thought I had replied to you before, but I don't see the post. Oh well. Thank you so much for the information on the Neof. falcata's. The one I got just says Neof. falcata then yellow underneath. Maura has so many kinds of orchids I thought I would stick to species and unusual orchids that most people don't have. I would welcome a PM from you with the links to the sites dedicated to the Neof, falcata's. I am pretty new here and have never received a PM and may have to figure out how to respond so bear with me. What I don't know about orchids could fill volumes and I would love to learn more about the ones that I do have. You are very kind to offer and I thank you. One of the pictures is of a Neof.falcata hybrid, but it looks the same or nearly so as the species one. It's name is 'Pinky' 'Starry Night' an I listed the cross above. Thanks for your response and your help. Phillip

Can't wait for him to figure out how this OT site works - it's cutting into my serious orchid time. How on earth did I ever figure this out for myself in May? (Haha - that would be because Bruce spent a lot of HIS serious orchid time telling me what to do....)

Thanks for the help. I did figure out how to turn my PM on all by myself. I'll make up your lost orchid time by going to get you grow lights, fixtures, light bulbs, growth hormone and dinner. Besides, I think you have helped me with all the major issues I was having with OT and I thank you for your time. I'm sure something else will come up that I don't know how to do. Phillip
