Default Two New Heirloom Catt rescues - Am I Insane???

I can't really describe the condition of these 2 hybrid catts when I got them this past week - let's just say they both had some horrifying flora and fauna in them, and not much left in the way of roots.

Cleaning these up has turned out to be SO MUCH work - I'm not sure I'll venture into it again, although there are still quite a few formerly magnificent catts still at my quirky nursery. Along with photos of the cleaned-up catts, I posted a couple of photos of the nursery - gives a little idea of it, but it would take a whole movie to really capture it.

The roots certainly look better contained now. Looking forward to your Paph photos and later your photos of the blooming Wedding Song.

I believe the first plant is Rlc. Sanyung Ruby (Waianae Coast x Chia Lin). The two awarded clones are 6" reds.

After I picked my jaw up off the floor I glanced to remind myself where you live. Then I said alot of bad words. lol I would love to have a go at a few of those lovely vanda! Quirky nursery?? I'll take a couple of those. lol No it's not insanity to rescue orchids. Just be careful that you don't infect your healthy plants in the process. After causing myself a few bug infestations with rescues, I now look at them and go...oh look it's gonna die. lol I think after you kill a hundred or so you get a little callous. It's also a pain to deal with bugs...i'd rather go to the dentist than find a new infestation of bugs these days. Good luck with your rescues...when they do make it they often end up being nice plants that reward you for years with lovely flowers.

Couldn't agree more, not with the dentist part though LOL !! Anyways I also do not take in rescue plants unless they are very rare clones or have some other sentimental value attached. However much you try a few bugs here and there a few eggs etc manage to survive and blow up into an infestation in no time. I would take such rescue plants only if I had a separate quarantine area where the plants can grow for a couple of months before being moved with my healthy lot. But the nursery looks amazing, just that they need someone to help them re-pot, may be you can offer to repot their cattleyas for plants in return LOL.
