    Default Dactylorhiza maculata

Now this here is an INCREDIBLY rare (in NZ) beaut, and hails from the marshes Cornwall, Southern England and the north of France and Belgium. This hardy little bugger can grow anywhere-dry, wet, cold, warm, hail, snow, lightening, all sorts. I love this little thing

Thanks guys, apparently they divide extremely well, but its a shame that MAF is in the way-otherwise i would share some! Good thing people like this when they see pics, and i sold one little bulblet for about 20NZD, but i must admit, i did put quite a large markup on that!

well im guessing another 23 months? Cant be too sure, because there arent many culture notes on the species, and ive never bloomed it before.

Hi Jordan, how is your D. maculata doing? I liked your enthousiastic reactions in this thread about this orchid, cause for me I run into this species in the wild every year a few times. But I think I can compare your reaction with mine when I found my first Corybas ever on the slopes of the forest of the Fox Glacier on the South Island. Corybas' are extremely rare in Europe so when I got my first Corybas I was very enthousiastic aswel!

Keep us posted on this plant, it looks very healthy so you will harverst succes with this one!

Thanks Maurice, The maculata is doing fabulous! she has started to unfurl her leaves, but is quite slow....Im like you with the dacs, i run into corybas two or three times a year! Did you know Corybas has been split? There is now Sigmatostylax, Corybas, Anzybas, something else and something else? It surprised me to find that-but when did you come here? Do you plan to come back? I know the BEST spot for several genera....
