This awesome little terrestrial from South Africa, has just popped its head up above the soil, this year with three growths instead of two! Lets hope that the flower spikes will be more magnificent than ever! Some of these photos were taken with the standard size ball point pen.

Nice. I just got myself stenoglottis longifolia. I think you're meant to cover the tubers with medium, not leave them exposed like that..

Thanks Its been like this for 2 years now, and each year it flowers quite nicely! I think it enjoys a bit of light and air around the tops of its roots, they actually fill the whole pot now!

Thanks Zain, i sprout this each year in the garage to protect the new growth from those pesky little buggers! Then i just douse the area in granular bait, it costs more than its weight in gold, but boy oh boy, does it work! Its got a metaldehyde content in it, and thats what kills the slugs/snails. It also burns really hot and bright, so it comes in handy during a powercut on a cold winter day!
