Jeff, I love your Pot, first time i've seen that shape, Shalow yet wide mouted.
Have a look at some specialist nurseries Jeff, they are quite common! they are also commonly 'slashed' up the sides to allow for better air circulation and drainage.

This is my biggest Vanda I have, Vanda luzonica. The picture was taken when I bought it in bloom in March, 2010. It has not bloomed since I bought it.

You guys are only kidding yourselves if you think you have large orchids.

I was sitting in the waiting room at a doctor's rooms this a.m. browsing through an elderly (do dr's have any other kind?) National Geographic magazine and spotted a one page article on a Grammatophyllum speciosum found growing up a tree on some mountain in South America.

The plant was 25' across at the top with a couple of hundred spikes of between 50 and 100 flowers each.

Now THAT is a large orchid!

That's a very beautiful and healthy Vanda luzonica you got there. So very well grown and with a complete set of leaves.

Even here in the Philippines where that orchid comes from, it is getting to be quite a rarity around here these days.

    Jojo, thank you.

If I remember correctly, the vendor told me that it was one of keikis, the mother plant is about 8' tall. Since then, it put out lots of roots and lost 5 sets of lower leaves ( actually, I trimmed them. ). The best part is it only cost me,

    $25.00

Thank you for pointing that out to me Jef09071984 but I had read it. I thought someone out there may have been interested in knowing just how big they can grow, in or out of captivity.
