I found this little guy in a potted plant at the nursery that I work at. I have found what I think it is in one of my books.
Zeuxine strateumatica or commonly know as the lawn orchid, the genus originates from Africa and Asia and this species has naturalized in the new world often appearing in potted nursery plants and in landscapes.
And just like any good orchid I will know for sure when it flowers.
Good for you. Finding an orchid like that must have been fun. Hope it blooms soon to get a positive identification!
What fun! Any idea how old it is? (Just wondering when it might bloom).
I have these in one of my lily pots. This year is the first it didn't bloom. Look up "soldier orchid" online and you will find tons of information. They are the coolest...their flowers look like little bells almost.
