Ok, I cheated and bought these orchids budded, but hopefully these will successfully open up under my care. The Ludisia buds grew quite fast and the plantlets are so small. It's mind-boggling how it's supporting these buds without any roots (all I saw was a rhizome attached when I took a peek downstairs).
Is it possible to gauge the color of cymbidiums flowers before they open? Mine has a very soft crimson tinge on buds (although difficult to see in the pics). I am hoping for some color and that it isn't a solid green/yellow. :|
Looking good. I will leave your cymbidium orchid bud color to flower color to someone who grows more of these orchids than I do. The jewel orchid will be in bloom before you know it too. Once they put out the buds, it is not long before they open up with cute little flowers.
