Thumbs up New Acquisition NOID Orchid

Hi all, hope the weather is good on your side but there are flood warning issued throughout the western parts of England today. However, we were on a small shopping trip where I came across a shop with a stand outside that read "Special Offers" [Ask Inside] and I spotted a crate of orchids that looked like Cambria/Miltoniopsis but the labels read nothing. Well, I asked the shop owner and to my surprise they were for £1 each. I brought 6 for £5 and here are the results. They were outside and water logged because they were still in their plastic sleeves without and drainage and constant rain on top of it all. I brought them home and surprisingly they are all active in growth. I grouped a couple together to make one plant. Still producing massive amounts of root and shoot. So take a look and if anyone can guess what it is then please share any information. I'd be grateful. One of them is in spike as well, I guess its a game of wait and watch. It would be a bummer to know I potted two different kinds into one pot :P

Congratulations on the great finds! We can't wait to see what you end up with. I don't know that I would have been able to ONLY get six of them at that price...

Thanks Patty, I know ONLY 6 is just a rip-off LOL. I am not sure about the last picture, its a spike with a bud I have never seen or come across before. Looks interesting, I would definitely post pictures of the bloom. Although, I have second thoughts of providing them with individual small pots to keep them root bound, I might just do it today.

good score! i just got me a six-pack of used-n-abused oncidiums, but not that good of a deal. i think it's fun to wait and see what they bloom out to be. being some sort of oncidium or relative, they should be easy to grow and flower.

PLEASE, send some of the rain to Puerto Rico! We have a dry spell, and the heat is By the way, that sure was a great buy. The excitement of seeing the blooms for the first time is indescribable. Enjoy!

I completely agree with you guys, apart from my 1 Oncidium Flexosum, 1 Phrag Wallisii and 2 Phaleanopsis NOIDS that my partner presented me, all the other orchids are rescued from distress. And its rewarding to see that they finally bloom. I usually post the pics of the bloom on this forum and the members help me identify them. Carmen, I am sure Nature will provide some relief from the dry spell.

Sure they do now, after enough tidying. I guess, it was the right thing to do.
