Thanks, Jason. I haven't had a Rubyweb itself, but have had a few with it as a parent - it makes for a fine ancestry!
Even though I know these things take forever to bloom, I'm feeling more than usually impatient - the bud itself is 2 1/4" long already. It's by far the biggest vinicolor bud I've had, and still dark, dark burgundy. It'll probably open up and be spotted ugly yellow all over the inside, just because I have such high hopes for it. What I really need to do is stay away from it, so I don't snap the spike - as I've been known to do.
