If you have ever wondered if your vanda had a root or a spike growing, you will understand why I got such a kick out of this...

With this one I guess there can be no mistake...up top we have a nice spike and below a pretty new root. I have never seen them grow like this before. The two brown spikes were growing when it shipped and both blasted from shipping. I was happy to see it is giving me a replacement spike.

Yes, I was wondering if you had seen this before. Maybe it's the heat...there are several plants out back doing strange things.

I began trying to raise Vanda plants over 5 years ago. I still have issues. lol Just when i'm ready to give up one will bloom for me. I think they know when i'm ready to throw them in the trash or something. I've been known to get laughed at by neighbors for talking out loud to my vandas. All I can say is they like way more fertilizer than any other plant I have. Hang in there, when they do bloom it's a sight and a half.
