    Default Breadfruit tree orchid rescues

Promised every since 2 months ago to post these schomburkia ( I believe that's what they are). A friend that supervises a major construction site rushed me over to a breadfruit tree in the middle of the area with a hugh cluster of these growing on it. He said that the tree was more than likely going to be pushed down or at the very least damaged by the machinery. We managed to harvest several pieces. Cleaned them up ended up with 8 pieces.

Experimented with what was just one new cane on a mass of half dead roots by putting it on a section of coconut husk. New roots and 3 canes so far.

These 2 got hunks of a palm tree trunk each, they've now attached themselves and new canes are growing.

I can identify with saving a native plant, it makes you feel great! I love the schomb's and am so happy you were able to find some trees and nice coconut plaques for them. I can't wait to see them in bloom for you! WTG
