I despise using common sense when it comes to orchids, but I'm slowly coming around to the limitations I have to deal with here in the South, sans greenhouses. Oh dear, I think a geographical cure may be in store, but we'll see as it gets closer to winter whether I am more inclined toward orchid comfort or my own!

Poor Maura.... Life is difficult at times. Why do we have to compromise (?) but we must. When you have decided your priorities, the answer becomes plain.

Yikes - I hate sounding like I'm whinging! You are absolutely right, Geoff, about arranging one's priorities - when viewed thus, my life is quite simple and greatly satisfying. Compromise, though fairly easily arrived at, is somewhat more difficult to accept! These days, the greatest challenge seems to be time - never enough, goes by at lightning speed, and all that. I suspect, however, that if food and shelter were my most constant issues, I would be quite silent on other topics.
