Phrag Mem Dick Clements. It bloomed over winter with a total of 4 progressive blooms. Not bad for a first blooming! It's super happy with 2 older growths (including the one it bloomed off of) and 2 younger ones started last fall, one of which just took off and almost as big as the older ones already. Very happy with it.
Mtssa (or oncidium or whatever) Shelob 'Tolkien'. This is the same plant that I posted about in this thread. Much happier now (fat shiny green pseudobulbs) but when it blooms it sends up 3 inch stems that barely make it out of the leaves and get all weird. No idea, maybe it will figure itself out eventually.
OK, technically it is in bloom and doesn't belong in this forum, but it's an update on the noid cattleya from the first post. It's probably a Jewel Box, mom has a start off the same plant and saw one at an orchid show and said it was as similar as could be. These are the first flowers I've got off of it though it's been happy as pie along with my other babies. They sure like michigan a lot better than eastern washington.
Very good growing.
They're looking good! Another season on your porch will have them all crazy I'm sure. I need to take some new pictures of my C. Bob Betts again - the buds started to open today! More to post soon!
