Default New spike on a Vanda

I got this Vanda from a friend a few months ago. She was tired of being unable to rebloom it and it was suffering from crown rot. I managed to stop the rot, though I don't think it will sprout new leaves, will it? Anyway, yesterday when I was watering my collection I saw this. I think it's a spike forming. Do you agree with me? It sure looks like the spike on another Vanda that bloomed for me. I don't know what color this Vanda is, so it will be a surprise.

Looks like a spike but some times could be root. next few days if it turn white (due to velamen) then it could be a root.

The roots I've seen grow on my other Vandas looked different, but I'll update in a few days what it is.

When I posted this picture, I thought I had a spike on this Vanda

Now, it looks like this and I'm not so sure anymore it is a spike. What do you think, spike or could it be a keiki?
A keiki is welcome of course since this plant had crown rot and won't grow any more leaves, but I'd prefer a spike.

Given the crown rot history, I am betting on a keiki!

I hate to say that I believe you're right because I was very excited about getting a spike, but on a second thought it would be a bit strange to grow a spike lower on the stem than the last spike it had.

Now that you mention crown rot this is either a keiki, like Harvey says or more probably, a new terminal shoot to replace the old rotted one.
