I think my Cyrtopodium polyphyllum (purchased as "paranaense") is about to bloom. I read that the bloom spikes came from the base but this one appears to be coming from the center of the cane. Maybe it's deformed leaf growth on the older cane? Can't tell but maybe others with more experience with this genus will be able to determine ...
