    Cool Must Be Tolumnia Season

I bought my 3 Tolumnia hybrids back in November 2013, in bloom. No blooms or spikes since then until now. They have all grown well and gotten much larger in size (ie fan count) but no spikes.

I discovered a spike on one Friday and now spikes on all 3 of them! Must be their time of year.

The funny thing about this to me is that about a month or more ago, I decided to mimic their natural cycle a bit better. I understand that to be, afternoon thunderstorms daily. So I would come home from work, take a cup of water and make thunderstorm sounds and douse the Tolumnia's. Appears to have worked.

So Harvey, can you share some of your rain dance moves? Are they better than Michael Jackson? But I really want to know your root dance moves!

I never said that I do a rain dance (I have 2 left feet) but I do make thunder noises. Puchhhh!!!!!

Is it coincidence or results from the afternoon storms?

Very nice growing Harvey. I might copy you and make thunderstorm noises myself. I only have one Tolumnia and it has finished blooming a few weeks ago. In fact, one flower got pollinated and I'll be sewing it soon (in-vitro of course). Now, she's growing two new fans.
