    Default Promenaea (stapelioides x guttata)

For those folks who like tiny orchids. This little guy is about to open, but not really enough to post in the other forum just yet. He is in a two inch pot. Very tiny.

    Cheers!

Neat... can't wait for the finished product...

My Prom doesn't like me.... how much light do you give it BD? And watering.. would you say it's Cattleya watering (let it dry after) or Paph watering (evenly moist)?

Hi, this little guy is actually easy to grow for us. We grow it next to the phals and water it like a cattleya. (It dries out fairly fast in the little pot.)

It is potted in one styro-peanut and some small bark, charcoal, perlite, and topped off with a tiny bit of moss to hold the moisture a bit longer. We keep it basically under the phals you see behind it and to the left. Since it is small, it fits right up under the leaves. And since we grow in a GH, it gets light from different angles all throughout the day. (No direct light though). It is fed on the same schedule as the rest of the orchids...once a week.

The photo makes it hard to tell, but the pbs of this guy are round. They appear flat in the photo, but they are actually little marble shaped pbs. I guess it stores up lots of water. The leaves are also a weird grey-green shade. Anyway, it is a cool little plant. I will check to see if it is open and post again soon!

    Cheers!

Oh so it could be grown easily under artificial lighting?

Someone who grows under lights should answer your question, Tindo. I am not sure.
