We're having a noid bloom race - I've got one with two spikes started, althought I think mine is a little farther along. We'll have to post comparison photos.

    Ok then,

My NOID Catt is in the race! Start your buds, ready, set, go!!!

It's just broken its sheath and is hurling towards flowerdom! It's the Richard Mueller NOID cross. I know what it looks like, but hopefully I can still race. I love a race!

Ok, the first sepals have opened. the flower is not completely in bloom yet, but heres the first development. oh, btw, the spike has topped out at around 40" with 16 buds. i was hoping for more with the rate of growth, but im not at all dissatisfied. the buds are robust, as you can see.

anyway, ive ruled out odontobrassia kenneth bivin. i was thinking another odbrs. (fangtastic bob henley 'memoria dr. lawrence') but thats wrong as well - the sepals on the buds just arent long enough, cant be right. next guess is degarmoara Flying High 'stars and bars', but im not so sure about that either. anyway, here are the most recent pics.

if anyone has any ideas, feel free. i imagine the flower will be open by tonight, so ill be doing my research as well, of course.

Ok - photo limit inhibition. I wanted to post this as well - the lip is popping through on some of the flowers.

I'll make a premature guess: Odcdm Wildcat (formerly Colmanara Wildcat.)

Would need to see the flower fully open to be sure, though.
