    Hi Lucinda,

Yes, it started out that way. Since the monsters have been growing, they have made a several plants, but they are really still one plant because they are all grown together.

    Cheers!

BD, Are they growing in anything but a basket? One of the growers down here are putting them in plastic basket with diatomite.

Just a basket. Well, a couple of baskets sitting inside each other as the plant got bigger. Oh, and some lava rock. That is it!

    Cheers!

    Now, Cin...

Don't be so sensitive. It's just that Holy VEAL! works so well and has such a nice forum history. It grew out of this post last December, starting with post # 63:

That is some incredible root growth!

    Of vandas & their roots....
I remember being really surprised when, walking through a greenhouse at MSU, I happened to spy a vanda hanging about 6 to 7 ft above a pool of water. The vandas roots hung all the way down to the bottom of the pool. To my surprise, the sections of the roots that were completely immersed were very healthy & appeared to be quite happily growing along the pool's bottom [pool was about 3-4ft deep]. The koi seemed to enjoy swimming amongst the roots.

The reason the roots were not rotting, or at least one of the reasons is that the water in the pool was oxygenated for the fish. Cool story.

    Cheers!
