Well, after my 85 lb. dog eats your hairball factory there will be great rejoicing in the plant community. Not only will pendulous buds be saved from ennui driven batting of a frivolous feline, there will be feline ferilizer on the menu.

Ah, what are a few pendulous buds compared to an entire row of plants knocked to the floor by those tails??

And as for an 85 lb dog eating a cat - well, my ex-husbands 120lb german trained shutzhund police dog was easily controlled by our 10 lb cat..

Say - this is almost as hotly debated a thread as the species snob one!!

Congratulations McJules. Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery.

And Diane, Dog vs. hairball is wwwaaaayyyy more contentious than hybrid vs. species. What is a Shutzhund? I've never heard of that breed.

    I'm not a cat snob - - - I'm a realist!!!

Mark, Schutzhund is a term that is nowadays used mostly for describing the training for police dogs in Germany. Originally is was a sporting competition for dogs that 'worked' for a living.

DARTH JULIE : Cats are better, cats are quieter. Come to the Cat Side, Mark.

DARTH DIANE : Cats are more powerfull, Cats are smarter. Come to the cat side Mark. You can't resist the power of the Cat Side.

MARK DOGWALKER : Are cats really the best?
Dark claws have the Cat Side. Go not there, young Dogwalker.

MARK DOGWALKER : But they sound so sensible, Yoda.

Great powers of reason for the whole world, once Diane and Julie were, before they were seduced by the Cat Side. To the service of the cat, now go those talents.

MARK DOGWALKER : Thank you Yoda. If not for you to the side of the cat-I-might have gone.

DARTH DIANE : It's only a matter of time, Dogwalker.

DARTH JULIE : Resistance is futile.

Young Dogwalker [wheeze...cyberbreathing...], I was once your father...

    [Cyber gasp]

But a great and powerful truth befell me. You can hold out for [long whiny inhale] doggie freedom, but in time you will fall before the felines. It's a matter of destiny.

    [ack, yck...ehhhhh....]

Live on in innocence, then... [high pitched wheeze] ...but know it's only a dream. And will last only as long as they allow it...

    ack, ack, ehhhhhhhhh...
