    Default Brassia Update

My Brassia Datacosa 'Coos Bay' AM/AOS is about a week from opening, it's been 25 days since I first saw the spike.

My Edvah Loo is done blooming. I moved it to a basket today, and counted 5 new growths. I'm hoping for a big show next spring.

My Rex is also finished blooming, but doesn't have any new growth showing yet. I will probably move it to a basket when it starts up again.

Wow! That looks awesome Tony. Can't wait to see all those buds open!

Actually, the second pic is awesome... looks like fish bones!

    Hi Tony,

I'm likewise looking forward to your blooms!

I just picked up a longissima and signata, and an Ada, so my tribe is growing!

Watch out for that horizontal growth habit - it makes for a sprawling plant that wants the room to itself! I don't worry about the spike as much as the new growth. They become monsters so quickly! It's like training your big Catts to grow upright and not outward.

Nice score! I know about how big they get, but I have plenty of room. My Brassias in the old collection never liked being divided, so now I just let them go wild. Some of the growths on my Edvah Loo have doubled around, and are now going over and through the middle of the plant. My Santa Barbara is also huge, I haven't tried to count the number of new growths, but there are at least a dozen.

Why do my posts keep getting deleted? I've replied to this twice, and both posts disappeared...

Maybe you are hitting the preview button instead of the submit button - I've done that many times...
