Default we don't need no stinkin' blooms!

I was weeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaak ! *hangs head in shame* Bought several plants at the Grand Rapids Orchids show this past weekend. This is one of them:

    Macodes petola
Several venders there had them. Fortunately, I know enough to shop around. Kept waiting for one vender in particular to show up and when he did, my wait was justified. A 4" pot for $15 - the other venders wanted $25 for a smaller plant!

This shot did a little better job of capturing both the glitter and the glow of the leaves

Anyone ever notice that if you look at the pattern of a leaf, it almost looks like a leaf, inside of a leaf, inside of a leaf?

The flowers, for any unfamiliar with this type of orchid are truly uninspiring. The foliage, IMO, more than makes up for that deficiency.

That is absolutely beautiful foliage Pavel! Who could resist?! I love the way the youngest leaves unroll.

Well, if you have to give in to the dark side from time to time, it's nice to have something that pretty to look at! Besides, that will make you smile year-round!
