Default Paphiopedilum kolopakingii

My giant Paph has a LS of about 3ft, more if the leaves are extended. The newer leaves are now coming out bigger, longer and wider. It is also growing quite fast, faster than my other multifloral Paphs. Have to repot the plant soon, into a more attractive bigger pot.

Oh come on - I know people around here who love your "crock" pot!
I love this species, but no room for it! It really *is* big! I really enjoyed seeing the Bel Royales last week. Maybe if I get a grow room going...then I could get one! Leaves are such beauties!

Yes, do get one when you have your new grow room setup with the HPS system. Paph kolo is a true GIANT and the flowers are also slightly fragrant, so that is another plus. Spikes can carry 6 flowers and upto, I think 10 or more!

Heather, how big were the Bel Royales? Were they in bloom? I don't think I have seen one in person. I may have but don't remember. Time for some more ginkgoes!

If/when I go back, I'll see if I can get a closer look and measure for you. I'm getting used to carrying a little measuring tape around w/ me now! What a nut I am! There were a whole slew of them, none in bloom, just hanging very large above one's head.

Hahahaha!!!! You're a true slipper nut! My kolo leaves are also very broad and thick, I would guess about 3 and a half inches wide!
