    Default Sanderianum

Last year I bought a seedling (2-4 years to blooming size) sanderianum. It has been growing pretty well for me but it looks more like 3-4 years is realistic to BS.

Last week I received a new sanderianum. I think I got a pretty good deal on it, about half of what I have been seeing NBS and a third of BS sands. The person I have gotten it from says that some of the plants in the group of mixed crosses have been blooming at this size and some a little smaller.

The smaller one I got previously is about 11.5" LS and the new one is 17-18" LS. Here is a pic of the two together.

Yes, and he says that maybe even THIS year, but I am not holding my breath. I WILL be giving it as much light, warmth and humidity that I can to raise my odds though.

    Any other suggestions?

They look great, very healthy! My little tyke is supposed to be fast growing, I hope I won't kill it.

How much light do you give yours? I keep reading completely opposing advice about the amount of light sanderianum likes.

I do not know what the optimum light level is either since, like you, I keep hearing various things too. Both plants were grown out in Hawii prior to coming back to the states and sold.

Warmth and humidity seem to be the most common portions of the hort. mix.
